Here are some of the genealogical links that I find very useful and informative:

Ancestors from England Offering affordable and excellent genealogical research since 1999.  Current rate is $20 (US) per hour.  Official documents requested will incur an additional cost.
Ancestry.com Millions of worldwide records.  Well worth the subscription fee but the site does offer some free information.
Archives Canada The starting page for those with ancestors that have emigrated to Canada.
Archives Hub Provides a single point of access for nearly 20,000 descriptions of archives held in 160 UK institutions, mostly in the higher education sector.
Blacksheep This site provides a selection of criminal, police, railway workers and other online indexes.
British Genealogy This site is dedicated to assisting people with their British family history research.
David and Kathy's Web They are researching some of my ancestors.
DirPedia Combining a dictionary, an encyclopedia and a web directory
Durham Mining Museum A "must" for those whose ancestors were coal miners.
Family History Archives Brigham Young University site that houses a collection of databases to assist you in your research.
Family Search The largest collection of free family history, family tree and genealogy records in the world.
Family Tree & Practical Family History Two magazines well worth the cost for information relating to family history in the UK
Free BMD An ongoing project, the aim of which is to transcribe the Civil Registration index of births, marriages and deaths for England and Wales, and to provide free Internet access to the transcribed records.
General Registry Office The centre for obtaining birth, death and marriage information and certificates in the UK.

National Archives The National Archives is the UK government's official archive, containing 900 years of history with records ranging from parchment and paper scrolls through to digital files and archived websites. The National Archives makes open records available to all, either onsite or online, continuously developing new tools to make history tangible for everyone.
Old English Census Occupations Some of the occupations that you may find on the English Census during your genealogy research.
Parish Records Information on Parish Records.  These records can help you trace your family roots back through baptisms, marriages, and burials. Most parish registers go back to the 1600s, and some even go back to the 1500s.
Roots Web A relative of Ancestry.com, researchers can search mailing lists and message boards.
UK Graves An ongoing project recording photographic evidence of graves in the UK
UK Public Libraries Shelia and Robert Harden have compiled a guide to UK public libraries on the web.

Pass your mouse over the button to see which Census it links to:
